Adrian Mutu sufferd another injury at his left elbow, while playing in the match Fiorentina-Lecce.The incident took place at only three minutes after the second crack began, when Fiorentina was leaded with 1-2. Mutu injured himself when he accidentally came into collision with Lecce's goalkeeper, Benussi, and he fell on his left arm.

The romanian player was took out of the field with the strecher and replaced by the argentinian Osvaldo.
Fiorentina lost the game, although the team tried to change the score that was registered at the break.

 

After the medical advice it was established that the romanian international suffered a dislocation and this fact would keep him away from the game field for aproximatelly one month.

 

"The attacker Adrian Mutu suffered a second dislocation at his left elbow. Mutu will take medical advice on monday, from Dr. Bufalini, and the result will say for sure how much time Mutu will not be able to play. This time Mutu will stay off the field a shorter period in comparison with the last time ( four weeks )", it says on Fiorentina's site.

 

The elbow must be fastened with a plaster stone bandage. In accordance with the way the elbow was took out of the joint, Mutu will wear the bandage between two and three weeks. If we take in consideration the last period he had to recover, maximum seven days, Fiorentina's attacker would have to return to the field in the middle of february, at the most.

 

In these terms, there is no possibility that Mutu would not be able to play at the end of march, when Romania will play the decisive matches against Austria and Serbia, ifor qualification in the next years' World Cup.

 

Mutu will miss the friendly match against Croatia, which will be played in Ghencea, on 11'th of february.

 

Fiorentina will miss Adi in tough times, also. He will not play in the important matches, like the ones against Milan, Juventus and Napoli and also against Bologna and Lazio. He will probably come back in shape in the match against Genoa, on 15'th of february.
