I don't know what the National team means to others, but I can say what it means for a football player...
When we start playing football, the National team becomes every child's dream; the desire to wear the yellow shirt wore over the years, with honor, by so many important football players along the history of the Romanian football.
I remember how excited I waited for the games of the National team, the admiration I had for the dribbles performed by Hagi, Ilie Dumitrescu or Sabau. I write about them because I grew up with this generation, they were my idols.
I know what you are thinking about and I feel sorry for that, maybe as sorry as you are, regarding the atmosphere within the Romanian football...It became worst. We insult each other without giving a single thought about the fact that others are just using us.
I believe that the National team deserves more respect. The minute you put on the yellow shirt, the dream of all the children who play football, either on the field, in the park, on the training camp, or as representative of the National team delegation, you MUST show respect for the National team. It is actually the respect for yourself, for the blood running through your veins.
