Burning atmosphere during the game on Wednesday


 

You are probably curious and you wonder about the atmosphere and about the way I will be welcome on Ghencea on Wednesday, when I perform against George Becali's team within the Champions League.

1. HOW DO YOU THINK THE FANS OF STEAUA WILL WELCOME YOU ON WENDSDAY NIGHT?

R: I thing the atmosphere will be hostile to me, they will probably hoot at me, they will swear at me during the game...

 


2. WILL THIS AFFECT YOU? R: No, it wont. It wont affect me at all. On the contrary, it will encourage me more. This is the mentality Steauas supporters! What does the National team mean to me?


 

I don't know what the National team means to others, but I can say what it means for a football player...


When we start playing football, the National team becomes every child's dream; the desire to wear the yellow shirt wore over the years, with honor, by so many important football players along the history of the Romanian football.

 


 I remember how excited I waited for the games of the National team, the admiration I had for the dribbles performed by Hagi, Ilie Dumitrescu or Sabau. Useless explanations ?!?!


I see it all goes on the fact that I shouldn't have left for America, to assist my daughter's birth, to be close to my wife in such an important moment of our life. I would like to ask some who spoke so much about this subject so many questions. They should shut up. Either they lost their senses and don't realize what they are talking about, or they don't give a damn, since they are talking about my family and not theirs. The birth of a child is a unique moment and I wouldn't have missed those moments for anything! For me, my family is more important then football. Period!
Regarding the meantime zone, I would like to compare what happened here and what happen to Fiorentina. I spent 10 days in the US, I returned to Bucharest on May 20, and I had my first match on June, 9. There are three weeks.
